Foxy Eco Sort is an educational sorting game with a strong recycling theme and elements from test tube sorting and mystery games. The player helps Foxy and her friends and neighbors pick up trash items polluting their forest and other areas. They also attempt to find the person responsible and thwart evil plans to cause even greater harm.
The game's trash material categories include electronics, glass, metal, organic, paper and plastic. Common types of trash from these categories include paper products like cardboard boxes, gift bags, loose new newspapers, and old bundled newspapers. The player also sorts plastic children's toys, disposable cups, gas cans, grocery bags and water bottles.
The player rearranges the items across containers that look like test tubes. They can only sort items into containers or spaces that have enough room. When they create a pile of three or more of the same type, the container transforms into a realistic recycling bin.
The game rewards the player with green leaf points at the end of each level. If the player views an advertisement, they earn double the points. The story also advances until new clues about the mystery come to light.
Foxy Eco Sort has bonus boosters as well. The player receives access to extra containers that make sorting easier, an undo move option that reverses some moves, and other useful tools like a rewarding wheel of fortune. They must pay to use these tools with either leaf points or ad views.
